Job Summary

Aventiv Technologies is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Field Service Technician to join our team. As a Field Service Technician, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing telecommunications hardware and equipment in correctional facilities across the country.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install, maintain, and repair telecommunications hardware and equipment, including phones, kiosks, WAPs, tablets, and video terminals.
  • Travel to remote sites nationwide for extended periods of time to perform installations, service, and repairs.
  • Interface with internal teams, vendors, and contractors to resolve complex issues.
  • Assist in educating and training customers and field service associates on Securus products and services.
  • Manage and maintain assigned company inventories and assets.
  • Perform conduit installation, bending, and termination based on site surveys, blueprints, and NEC standards and code.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision on complex projects in remote areas.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 2 years' combined experience in the installation of telecom devices, including conduit bending and installation, and the installation of network equipment.
  • Experience/knowledge of terminating and splicing fiber.
  • Ability to work all tasks to completion with a high sense of urgency and the highest work quality.
  • Strong organizational, planning, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient skills with installing, terminating, and troubleshooting copper cabling, wireless networks, and fiber optics.
  • Ability to travel up to 100% of the time.
  • Must be able to pass multiple in-depth background checks.
  • Must have a clean valid driving record.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Fiber Certification.
  • Proficient with Windows OS, VOIP, Fortinet, Ruckus, ADTRAN AOS, and wireless technology.
  • Electronics/Electrical Certification or 5 years or more of related experience.
  • Previous wireless install experience.
  • Previous Heat Mapping experience.
  • Previous experience working in law enforcement or correctional environment.
Physical Requirements
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer, telephone, and a variety of office equipment.
  • Occasionally, may need to reach, stoop, or kneel.
