The role of the Quality Assurance Leader is fundamentally focused on the development and implementation of a comprehensive quality assurance framework that enhances customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the main quality control expert for identifying product issues, resolving them, reporting losses, and driving continuous improvement within our manufacturing facilities.
  • Establish and execute metrics (such as process capability, control charts, and measurement quality) to monitor the effectiveness of the quality management system (QMS) and empower managers to make informed decisions regarding product quality.
  • Conduct root-cause analyses to determine effective corrective actions and initiate process enhancements.
  • Develop systems for collecting and analyzing statistical data to forecast trends that will influence product quality improvements.
  • Examine customer product specifications to set efficient, cost-effective manufacturing requirements.
  • Create process certification standards and assist in the certification processes on the production floor.
  • Initiate and execute quality enhancement initiatives as necessary to elevate the performance of the company’s product lines.
  • Provide education and training to employees regarding their roles in the Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Review customer orders, contracts, and change requests to ensure that all necessary criteria and provisions are included in quality and process plans.
  • Engage with customers to identify quality improvement opportunities and establish feedback loops with manufacturing and development teams.
  • Oversee calibration and testing programs.
  • Manage quality control personnel on a daily basis.
  • Review supplier purchase orders and set supplier quality requirements.
  • Participate in both internal and external quality audits.
  • Collaborate with supplier and customer quality representatives to address quality control issues and ensure effective corrective actions are implemented.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of fifteen (15) years of experience in ISO9001/AS9100 quality assurance systems implementation and management, particularly in a medium-sized electronics manufacturing setting.
  • Proficient understanding of electronics manufacturing, including knowledge of SMT and mechanical assembly techniques.
  • Functional knowledge of IPC-A-610 and familiarity with J-STD-001, including printed circuit board inspection to IPC-A-610 Class 2 and electronic component identification and verification.
  • Proficient in using Excel for presenting statistical data.
  • Strong knowledge of ESD procedures.
  • Ability to manage job-related stress and interact effectively with colleagues.
  • Fluent in English, with the ability to read, write, and communicate effectively.
  • Capable of following detailed written and oral instructions.
