Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Academic and Career Advisor to join our team at The College of Southern Maryland. As a key member of our Advising and Career Services department, you will provide logistical, analytical, and academic and career advising support to students, faculty, and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide academic and career advising to students, including registration support and interpretation of transfer requirements.
  • Manage a caseload of students in a specified pathway, providing career advisement and registration support.
  • Collect and report monthly statistics to the Director of Advising & Career Services.
  • Serve as campus contact for ACS Data and promote credit and continuing education courses and programs.
  • Participate in various committees and task forces related to improving student services.

Requirements:

  • BS or BA degree required with two years' experience in career development, education, advising, or four years' experience in a related field.
  • Knowledge and experience in assisting students in a college setting in academic and/or career development.
  • Community College experience preferred, with experience in data analysis and reporting also preferred.
