Position Overview:

As the Lead Coordinator for Locomotive Final Assembly, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the effective and high-quality assembly of locomotives during the final production stages. This essential position requires overseeing a dedicated team, managing assembly workflows, and upholding quality standards. Your leadership will be vital in meeting production goals, adhering to safety regulations, and fostering a collaborative workplace.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establishing critical production workflows, sequences, and timelines while defining work scope for each station or cell.
  • Creating standardized work instructions.
  • Aligning work schedules with operational objectives.
  • Driving manufacturing enhancements, complex process modifications, and technological advancements.
  • Providing essential process control guidance to production, maintenance, and quality assurance teams to enhance product accuracy and quality.
  • Ensuring compliance with all safety protocols.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in a manufacturing setting.
  • Demonstrated mechanical and/or electrical proficiency.
  • Proven capability to train and mentor team members.
  • Experience in effectively leading a diverse team within a production environment.
  • A history of engaging in problem-solving and implementing effective solutions within your area of responsibility.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in planning and supporting the launch of new production lines in a low-speed production environment (e.g., rail, aviation/aerospace, naval, heavy equipment).
  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience in the rail industry, particularly in light rail, heavy rail, or related production.
  • Familiarity with SAP or similar MRP/ERP systems is highly desirable.
  • Practical experience in customer service, maintenance, or aftermarket technologies within the rail sector.
