Position Overview:
As the Lead Coordinator for Coach Final Assembly, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the efficient and high-quality assembly of Coach vehicles during the final production stages. This key position requires managing a dedicated team, coordinating assembly workflows, and upholding quality standards. Your leadership will be vital in meeting production goals, ensuring safety compliance, and fostering a collaborative work atmosphere.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assign work tasks and provide clear instructions to team members on a daily basis.
- Train and assist employees in adapting to new job roles.
- Collaborate with other Group Leaders and Supervisors to coordinate work schedules and monitor project status. Conduct quality assessments on ongoing work.
- Oversee employee safety, quality control, operational methods, and productivity.
- Keep management updated on work plans, progress, and employee performance metrics.
- Prepare and review employee time records and other labor documentation.
- Support the supervisor in conducting regular safety briefings.
- Utilize computer systems for information inquiries and transactions to assist with various responsibilities.
- Interpret detailed engineering drawings to assemble components including steel channels, brackets, and subassemblies.
- Achieve production schedules with minimal oversight.
Qualifications for Success:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of two years of experience in safely handling structural steel, operating cranes, forklifts, and using lifting fixtures and slings. Welding experience with carbon and/or stainless steel is essential, along with A.W.S. D1.1 and D1.3 certifications for all positions on carbon steel, and A.S.M.E. Section IX certification for tack welding on stainless steel.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting manufacturing drawings and verifying dimensions. Understanding of tolerances and completion of shop order documentation is necessary.
- Strong mathematical skills: Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations and interpret ratios, percentages, and graphical data.
- Effective communication skills: Capable of reading and understanding instructions, writing clear correspondence, and presenting information in small group settings.
- Ability to follow detailed written or verbal instructions with common sense.
