Collaborating Physician (Psychiatry) Overview

Must Hold a Valid License in Missouri

We are seeking a dedicated physician to serve as a Collaborative Physician for Physician Assistants (PAs) and Nurse Practitioners (NPs) engaged in psychiatric medication management for clients. The selected physician will provide oversight and case consultation, addressing inquiries, conducting chart reviews, making medical diagnoses, and prescribing medications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise up to six individuals with either PA or NP licensure
  • Conduct weekly meetings with the PA/NP for at least one hour during the initial 90 days to ensure a smooth transition
  • Be accessible via phone, secure messaging, and/or video conferencing for case consultations and inquiries from PAs/NPs
  • Accept telehealth consultations as necessary
  • Review 10% of charts for each collaborating PA/NP
  • Review and sign administrative documents related to practice
  • Maintain malpractice insurance

NP Requirements (in addition to the above):

Chart Reviews:

Review at least 20% of charts every fourteen (14) days for cases where the advanced practice registered nurse prescribes controlled substances. These reviews may count towards the total required chart reviews.

On-Site Requirement:

Document a minimum of one month of continuous practice with the collaborating physician present before transitioning to a setting without the physician's continuous presence.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Contract

Compensation: Ranges from $500 to $1000 monthly for each PA/NP based on their caseload, negotiable

Schedule:

  • One-hour weekly meeting with PA/NP
  • On-call as needed during practice hours
    • Operational hours are Monday through Sunday, 8 AM to 9 PM, with a minimum of 15 hours during peak hours (Monday through Friday from 4 PM to 9 PM or weekends).

Qualifications:

  • Doctoral degree in psychiatry: MD or DO, and board-certified/board-eligible in psychiatry
  • Active, unrestricted license in the State of Missouri (must be fully licensed)
  • DEA certification
  • Board certification

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience as a psychiatrist
  • Supportive of PAs and/or NPs
  • Experience and enjoyment in supervising PAs and NPs in a collaborative agreement
  • Comprehensive knowledge of legal medical guidelines and best practices in medicine
  • Respect for patient confidentiality
  • Compassionate and approachable demeanor
  • Responsible and trustworthy
  • Prior experience in a private practice setting
  • Training and experience in working with neurodivergence, ADHD, PTSD/Trauma, anxiety and panic disorders, depression/bipolar and mood disorders, and women's issues
