Position Overview: Collaborative Psychiatrist

We are seeking a licensed physician in Missouri to serve as a Collaborative Psychiatrist for our team of Physician Assistants (PAs) and Nurse Practitioners (NPs) who specialize in psychiatric medication management. The role involves providing oversight and consultation, including answering inquiries, reviewing medical charts, diagnosing conditions, and prescribing necessary medications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise a team of up to six PAs or NPs.
  • Conduct weekly meetings with the PA/NP for the first 90 days to ensure effective collaboration.
  • Provide support via phone, secure messaging, or video conferencing for case discussions and inquiries.
  • Accept telehealth consultations as necessary.
  • Review 10% of charts for each collaborating PA/NP.
  • Sign off on administrative documents for the practice.
  • Maintain malpractice insurance.

NP Specific Requirements:

Chart Review: Every 14 days, review at least 20% of charts where controlled substances are prescribed.

On-Site Requirement: Document a minimum of one month of continuous practice with the collaborating physician present before working independently.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Contract

Compensation: Competitive monthly compensation ranging from $500 to $1000 for each PA/NP based on their caseload, negotiable.

Schedule:

  • Weekly one-hour meetings with PAs/NPs.
  • On-call availability during practice hours, which are Monday through Sunday, 8 AM to 9 PM, with a minimum of 15 hours during peak times (Monday to Friday from 4 PM to 9 PM or weekends).

Qualifications:

  • Doctoral degree in psychiatry (MD or DO) with board certification in psychiatry.
  • Active, unrestricted medical license in Missouri.
  • DEA certification.
  • Board Certified.

  • Demonstrated experience as a psychiatrist.
  • Supportive of PAs and NPs.
  • Experience in supervising PAs and NPs in a collaborative setting.
  • Strong knowledge of medical guidelines and best practices.
  • Commitment to patient confidentiality.

  • Responsible and trustworthy.
  • Prior experience in a private practice environment.
  • Training and experience with neurodivergent conditions, PTSD, anxiety disorders, mood disorders, and women's health issues.
