Program Overview: Our HOMEBUILDERS program is recognized as a Well Supported family preservation initiative, focusing on child safety and family unity. The Family Support Services Specialist will provide intensive, evidence-based family preservation services, including crisis intervention, counseling, skill development, and advocacy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver clinical interventions aligned with HOMEBUILDERS standards, utilizing a variety of clinical and advocacy services for families.
  • Conduct thorough data collection and reporting in a timely manner.
  • Perform comprehensive assessments focused on strengths and behaviors.
  • Collaborate with families to establish intervention goals and service plans, monitoring progress and addressing barriers to success.
  • Act as an advocate for families, providing essential resources and teaching them to meet their own needs.
  • Maintain clear documentation of treatment efforts and client interactions.
  • Be available to clients 24/7, ensuring appropriate coverage when necessary.
  • Participate in weekly meetings to review case plans and evaluate client progress.
  • Stay informed about community resources and refer families as needed.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development and training to enhance service delivery.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Human Services, or a related field, with at least two years of experience working with children and families, or a Master's degree in a relevant field.
  • Experience working with diverse populations and a strong understanding of cultural sensitivity.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage clients with empathy and respect.
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as required.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Pass a criminal history screening and maintain compliance with agency policies.
