Staff Engineer-Engine Sustaining

We are seeking a highly skilled Staff Engineer-Engine Sustaining to join our Engine Development Group at Generac Power Systems. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing engineering input to product development projects, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring the successful launch of new products.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, validate, and bring new products to market
  • Specify precise new product functional requirements, design, test, and integrate complex components
  • Collaborate with internal manufacturing partners, contract manufacturers, designers, and product specialists to optimize designs for manufacturability
  • Utilize CAD/CAE systems to model new designs and produce detailed engineering drawings
  • Support product development plans, including schedule, product cost, and meeting design inputs
  • Mentor and teach less experienced engineers
Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related discipline
  • 7+ years of relevant work experience
  • Ability to perform detail-oriented work with a high degree of accuracy on multiple projects of increasing complexity
  • Design experience with various materials and basic knowledge of material specs and use
  • Experience in new product design and development
  • Ability to conduct analysis using FEA, CFD, etc.
  • Strong written communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to translate technical information to all audiences
