Job Overview

The Senior Credit Analyst plays a crucial role in supporting Commercial Loan Officers with the evaluation and management of credit portfolios.

This position entails a thorough assessment of loan applications through detailed financial analysis, collateral assessments, and the evaluation of repayment capabilities for both new and existing clients.

Continuous oversight of credit accounts is essential to ensure compliance with agreed-upon terms and effective portfolio management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide mentorship and training to junior Credit Analysts.
  • Evaluate the financial health of businesses and individuals, assessing the quality and adequacy of repayment sources, collateral, and the suitability of credit structures for new and renewal loan applications.
  • Serve as a checkpoint in the loan approval process to guarantee compliance with credit policies and loan agreements.
  • Analyze and interpret applicants' business plans, financial statements, and associated documents in accordance with GAAP and institutional policies.
  • Prepare comprehensive loan presentations that detail credit structures, management assessments, industry background, and risk evaluations, and participate in loan presentations to decision-making authorities.
  • Offer recommendations regarding existing commercial loan relationships, highlighting any deviations.
  • Conduct ongoing collateral evaluations for current loans, including inventory and accounts receivable verification for Borrowing Base loans or audits of vehicles and equipment.
  • Understand and apply procedures and documentation requirements for credit-enhanced lending programs.
  • Engage in site visits to client businesses to gain insights into their operations.
  • Provide analytical support post-funding and assist in maintaining credit relationships and portfolio oversight.
  • Support the department's operations with various administrative tasks and special projects as assigned.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of the bank's lending policies, procedures, and philosophies across various loan types, including consumer, residential, small business, commercial real estate, and construction loans.
  • Ensure compliance with regulations from governing bodies and adhere to industry best practices.
