Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Manager to join our team at Goodwill Industries of Central Texas. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our retail store, including customer service, inventory control, budgeting, and record keeping.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate with the Retail General Manager to ensure overall production efficiency and maintain standards in store organization and safety.
  • Supervise and train employees, including setting schedules and ensuring compliance with company policies.
  • Assist in the supervision of employees, including greeting donors, unloading donations, and completing donor receipts.
  • Monitor sales transactions and ensure proper sales procedures are followed.
  • Maintain a safe and clean store environment, adhering to company policies and standards.
  • Collaborate with the employment and training program to further the mission of Goodwill Industries of Central Texas.
  • Assist customers and handle complaints in a professional and courteous manner.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Two years of previous retail management experience, supervising several departments and/or staff.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in retail or equivalent industry.
  • Experience selecting, assessing, coaching, and developing associates, preferably in a retail environment.
  • Proficiency in setting and managing schedules for store staff.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing.
  • Basic math and computer skills.
