About the Role:

We're seeking a highly skilled Talent Acquisition and Management Professional to lead our human resources efforts. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of cannabis retail while building a strong and engaged workforce.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Talent Acquisition: Lead and manage recruitment processes, from sourcing candidates to conducting interviews and onboarding new hires.
  • Employee Relations: Serve as a point of contact for employees, addressing concerns, managing conflicts, and ensuring a positive workplace culture.
  • HR Compliance: Ensure the company is compliant with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Performance Management: Assist with employee evaluations, development plans, and feedback mechanisms.
  • Completing Special Projects: Reviewing costs, and other ad-hoc tasks.
  • HR Policies: Develop, implement, and maintain HR policies and procedures that align with our values and growth goals.
  • Benefits Administration: Support the administration of employee benefits.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Minimum 3-5 years of experience in human resources managing a unionized workplace, ideally in a startup or small business environment, with a BA in studies pertaining to the role.
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of HR principles, employment laws, and compliance.
  • Skills: Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Tech-Savvy: Familiarity with HR software and remote collaboration tools.
  • Passion for Diversity & Inclusion: Experience or passion for working in diverse, inclusive environments, with an understanding of justice-involvement issues being a plus.
