Position Details:
This is a full-time, 40-hour work week position. Compensation ranges from $31.60 to $45.74 per hour.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervision: Oversee and direct the utilities crew, ensuring tasks are executed effectively, often requiring hands-on involvement.
- Planning and Implementation: Assist in the planning, scheduling, and execution of work orders while overseeing construction and maintenance activities to guarantee high-quality water and sewer services.
- Training: Facilitate training for employees in maintenance, construction, and repair of water and sewer systems.
- Inspection: Regularly inspect and repair booster pumping stations, reservoirs, meters, and other essential components to ensure optimal functionality.
- Record Keeping: Maintain comprehensive records related to inspections, maintenance activities, and water supply metrics.
- Excavation Preparation: Identify and mark the locations of various utility lines prior to excavation work.
- Problem Resolution: Respond promptly to complaints and resolve issues following established protocols.
- Equipment Operation: Operate a range of trucks and construction equipment, including performing routine inspections and maintenance.
- Inventory Management: Keep track of materials and parts necessary for the maintenance of water and wastewater systems.
- Labor Participation: Engage in construction and maintenance tasks, including pavement cutting and pipe repairs.
- Service Operations: Manage the servicing of water supply and sewer lift pumps.
- Safety Compliance: Identify safety hazards and report any faulty equipment or breakdowns.
- Emergency Readiness: Maintain availability for emergency situations and participate in snow removal operations.
Qualifications:
Applicants should possess considerable knowledge of construction and maintenance methods for water and wastewater systems, along with safety precautions associated with utility maintenance. A high school diploma or equivalent is required, supplemented by relevant coursework. Candidates should have at least four years of progressive experience in the field and hold a valid NH CDL-B with necessary endorsements.
