Position Overview:

The Accounting Manager will oversee the daily operations of the accounting team and collaborate closely with the Controller to uphold accounting standards, practices, and procedures, ensuring precise and timely financial reporting.

This role involves providing leadership, guidance, and mentorship in alignment with the organization's and department's objectives.


Key Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or 10 years of relevant accounting experience
  • Minimum of 5 years in a managerial role, with a focus on coaching, accountability, and achieving results
  • Preferred experience in non-profit organizations
  • In-depth knowledge of fundamental accounting principles, including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Strong leadership capabilities with a commitment to driving results
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision to meet objectives
  • Exceptional organizational skills and effective time management
  • Proficient project management skills, capable of handling multiple projects concurrently
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, fostering relationships across all organizational levels
  • Experience in preparing financial statements
  • Familiarity with general ledger operations and the month-end/year-end closing process
  • Ability to develop and document processes and accounting policies to enhance internal controls
  • Advanced computer proficiency, including office software and the ability to learn Accra-specific systems, such as Excel and accounting software
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in work
  • Capability to analyze extensive data sets
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate an objective perspective
