Job Summary

We offer a competitive hourly rate and a part-time opportunity that can potentially lead to full-time employment. As a teacher with Sishu Mandarin, you will be responsible for creating engaging lesson plans, managing classroom attendance, and maintaining accurate records. Your duties will also include collaborating with colleagues to deliver exceptional student experiences and participating in professional development workshops.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and prepare effective lesson plans for each class session
  • Monitor student attendance and maintain up-to-date records
  • Address any issues or emergencies that may arise during classes
  • Work closely with fellow teachers to ensure seamless delivery of learning materials
  • Attend regular meetings to develop curriculum and lesson plans
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you should have a strong passion for teaching and a genuine enthusiasm for working with students of various language levels. The ideal candidate will possess excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to create a positive learning environment. Fluency in English and Mandarin Chinese (spoken and written) is essential, while knowledge of traditional Chinese or Cantonese is a plus. Proper work authorization permitting work in the U.S. is mandatory.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Prior teaching experience is highly valued, but not necessary
  • A degree is important, but we believe more than just academic credentials
  • Knowledge of another language is always an asset
  • Computer skills are preferred, but basic literacy in digital tools is sufficient
