Job Summary

Turning Point Community Programs is seeking a skilled Behavioral Health Specialist I to join our team. As a key member of our staff, you will provide psychosocial, rehabilitation, and recovery-oriented services to adults in our community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership and direction to clients as assigned, ensuring their safety and well-being.
  • Advocate for clients in all areas of treatment, empowering them to meet their goals and access necessary services.
  • Support individual service plans for each client, ensuring their unique needs are met.
  • Meet regularly with clients at Turning Point sites or in the field, providing coaching and guidance as needed.
  • Consult with clients' families, care providers, or other significant persons with their consent, ensuring a holistic approach to care.
  • Develop and implement financial management plans for clients who receive Representative Payee Services.
  • Interact productively with the team to provide comprehensive case management services to clients.
  • Provide on-the-spot counseling and support to clients, consistent with the program's philosophy.
  • Drive on program business using a personal vehicle, ensuring safe and reliable transportation for clients and staff.

Requirements
  • Graduation from a four-year college or university with a Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field.
  • Varied experience as a provider of mental health services, with additional qualifying experience substitutable for education.
  • Valid California driver's license, current vehicle insurance, and a driving record acceptable to Turning Point's vehicle insurance company.
