Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine cleaning operations in assigned areas, adhering to established practices and procedures.
  • Clean and sanitize restrooms and/or locker rooms, ensuring a high level of hygiene and cleanliness.
  • Check and restock paper and soap dispensers as needed, maintaining a well-stocked and efficient supply system.
  • Follow instructions regarding the use of chemicals and supplies, prioritizing safety and environmental responsibility.
  • Operate and maintain various equipment, including hand tools, mops, squeegees, vacuums, and other specialized cleaning devices.
  • Assist with setup and break-down of facilities for meetings, conferences, and events, ensuring a smooth and efficient process.
  • Contribute to building security by locking doors and windows, and reporting any unauthorized occupants or safety hazards.
  • Perform minor maintenance tasks, including changing light bulbs and ceiling tiles, and other minor repairs.
  • Report maintenance issues and vandalism or safety hazards to the Lead or Head Custodian, ensuring prompt attention and resolution.
  • Take immediate action to ensure safety to building occupants, prioritizing their well-being and security.
  • Perform project work as needed, including deep cleaning of furniture, fixtures, and areas, moving furniture and boxes, and other specialized tasks.
  • Ensure safe access to and through the building, including snow removal, ice melt application, and mopping of corridors.
  • May receive, transport, and deliver supplies as needed, maintaining a well-organized and efficient supply chain.
  • Provide assistance to school faculty and staff as needed, demonstrating a commitment to teamwork and collaboration.
Requirements
  • Demonstrated aptitude for successful completion of tasks, with a strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to prioritize, organize, and perform work independently, with minimal supervision.
  • Basic understanding of chemicals, processes, and equipment used to complete tasks, with a commitment to safety and environmental responsibility.
  • Physical ability to climb ladders, lift a minimum of 50 pounds, and perform other physically demanding tasks, with a focus on maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.
