About the Position

Oklahoma State University (OSU) Extension is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Extension Educator to lead agriculture and family and consumer sciences programs in a dual assignment. The successful candidate will provide leadership to programs in agriculture and family and consumer sciences, as well as 4-H youth development, with approximately 50% of time spent in agriculture and family and consumer sciences and 50% in 4-H youth development work.

Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership to agriculture and family and consumer sciences programs, including planning, implementing, and evaluating programs.
  • Work with local clientele, the Muscogee Nation, the College of the Muscogee Nation, and advisory groups to plan, implement, and evaluate the total Cooperative Extension program.
  • Comply with all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines, etc., related to equal opportunity, civil rights, and affirmative action.
  • Participate as a cohesive team member to involve local clientele, the Muscogee Nation, the College of the Muscogee Nation, and advisory groups to plan, implement, and evaluate the total Cooperative Extension program.
Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Family and Consumer Sciences, public health, or a similar health-related field is required.
  • Extension experience is desirable.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for travel connected with official duties.
  • Demonstrates ability to effectively listen, communicate, and foster a professional image of OCES by displaying a positive view of the organization both internally and externally.
  • Demonstrates willingness and ability to effectively manage time and resources and foster community development and engagement, and adapts well to changing priorities, situations, and day-to-day demands.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Agriculture, Family and Consumer Sciences, public health, or a similar health-related field.
  • Experience working with diverse audiences and communities.
  • Strong writing, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Leadership ability in designing, promoting, presenting, and evaluating programs.
