The Electronics Assembler II - Manufacturing Specialist works under supervision performing assigned assembly processes to manufacture Crane Aerospace & Electronics products in accordance with industry standards and best practices using visual aids, verbal and/or written instructions. In addition, the Assembler II communicates with the manufacturing team and performs visual and dimensional inspection.
Key Responsibilities- Perform assigned assembly tasks, including preparing components, cleaning, marking, and inspecting components, subassemblies, or completed assemblies.
- Test finished assemblies to ensure quality and accuracy.
- Set up and operate assigned equipment and machinery, adhering to safety protocols and procedures.
- Observe and maintain proper health and safety procedures when handling hazardous chemicals.
- Identify and report any difficulties that may affect the correctness and quality of the work in process to the lead or supervisor.
- Participate in cleaning of the workspace and machinery, and contribute to team meetings for improvement.
- Cross-train to work on at least 3 products, expanding knowledge and skills.
- Complete job-related company training courses to enhance expertise.
- Support Crane Business System (CBS) initiatives, including 5S, KPIs, Standard Work, Problem Solving, and other initiatives as they arise.
- Be flexible and willing to work overtime if necessary.
- Perform other tasks assigned by the supervisor or management.
- 2-5 years of Assembly experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, good reading comprehension, and basic computer skills.
- Accurate color vision, near vision, and depth perception, as well as manipulative skills, including finger and manual dexterity.
- Able to thoroughly interpret production or engineering prints, production planning information, and assembly aids such as illustrations and wiring diagrams.
- Ability to work well in a moderate to high-paced work environment in a high-volume setting.
- High School diploma or equivalent, and fine soldering certificate or equivalent experience.
- Ability to perform part marking, wrapping, and packaging finished goods, and transport to other work areas.
- Ability to ensure all paperwork is completed appropriately and to close work orders.
- Ability to perceive and pre-determine sequence of operations and installation requirements from sketches and oral instructions.
Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment. Manufacturing operations may require the use of safety equipment, including eye safety glasses, gowning, masks, hearing protectors, heel/wrist straps, and any other required PPE. May be exposed to unusual environmental conditions, such as loud noises, cold temperatures, confined spaces, dust, or fumes.
