Under the direction of management and physician leadership, this Medical Assistant III will perform and oversee clinical activities, including maintaining patient flow, assisting with primary and preventative healthcare, and performing technical procedures under physician/provider direction. The successful candidate will assist management in achieving office efficiencies and support physicians, clinic staff, and management in delivering exceptional patient care.
Essential Functions- Act as an assistant to the physician/provider, providing primary healthcare and patient care management.
- Collaborate with clerical staff to optimize operations and patient flow.
- Interact with outside healthcare facilities and agencies regarding patient care and insurance.
- Maintain updated competencies and communicate effectively with leadership and accreditation bodies.
- Perform front office duties and provide coverage as needed.
- Provide coverage in other departments or locations as required.
- Demonstrate excellent customer service skills and support patient- and family-centered care.
- Perform and be formally assigned two additional responsibilities, which should comprise at least 20% of dedicated time, such as:
- Primary Care gaps in care identification, outreach, and chart preparation
- Residency clinic role
- High-level disinfection
- Designated new hire preceptor
- Role in practice participating in or leading special programs/grants
- Care management (PDCMs)
- Qualified language interpreter
- Super User for EPIC or specific competency
- Advanced provider support – assisting with complex procedures and/or infusion/chemo scheduling
- Multi-site/flexible float pool assignment
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Completion of an accredited MA program, including a clinical rotation, or equivalent experience required
- 1 year of relevant experience and 12 months of MA work experience or a completed Beaumont MA internship and 6 months of MA work experience required
- 2 years of relevant experience and 2-3 years of MA experience preferred
- CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association or ARC American Red Cross required
- CRT-At least one Certification from the preferred list required
