About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our team at Concentra. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our healthcare team.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine medical and testing procedures under direct supervision of the treating clinician.
  • Support registration and referral management as needed.
  • Deliver one-on-one patient care in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ensure every patient receives quality clinical care and an excellent patient experience.
  • Perform Department of Transportation (DOT) and Non-DOT drug and alcohol testing.
  • Prepare patients for physical examinations, including vital signs and ancillary testing.
  • Assist providers during examinations and treatment.
  • Perform routine medical procedures as ordered by the treating clinician.
  • Triaging emergent patients as needed.
  • Prepare and assist clinicians with procedure setup and injury care.
  • Apply bandages, dressings, and splints as ordered by the treating clinician.
  • Dispense medications and DME as ordered by the treating clinician in accordance with state regulations.
  • Complete quality assurance activities on equipment and medical devices.
  • Maintain supplies, clean rooms, and equipment, and stock exam rooms.
  • Maintain and operate all medical devices and equipment, including calibration and record keeping.
  • Notify supervisor immediately if equipment is not functioning properly, supplies are needed, or facility is not operating as expected.
  • Assist with patient flow and volume in partnership with center leadership.
  • Keep patients informed of expected wait times during all aspects of the center visit.
  • Perform front office duties, including greeting patients, obtaining authorization, checking in/out, communicating wait times, answering multi-line telephone systems, and distributing employer results/paperwork as needed.
  • Follow HIPAA guidelines and safety rules.
  • Attend center staff meetings or huddles as required.
  • Assist in maintaining a neat, clean, and orderly appearance throughout the facility.
  • Complete any applicable training, including clinical competency training.

Qualifications

We are looking for a Medical Assistant with:

  • Medical Assistant Certification from an accredited school (credentials in the state of employment in accordance with state requirements and applicable regulations) or Military Medical Specialist with current Medical Assistant credentials in the state of employment in accordance with state requirements and applicable regulations.
  • At least six months or more of medical assistant experience.
  • Knowledge of medical procedures and medical terminology.
  • Working knowledge of occupational medicine requirements (state specific) preferred.

Compensation

This position is eligible to earn a base compensation rate in the state range of $21.66 to $28.16 hourly, depending on job-related factors as permitted by applicable law, such as level of experience, geographic location where the work is performed, and/or seniority.
