Position Title: Senior Telecommunications Architect
Work Arrangement: Hybrid
Contract Duration: 6-month Contract to Hire
Compensation: Approximately $70 per hour
Key Responsibilities:
System Design and Deployment:
- Architect, configure, and implement Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM) along with associated Cisco voice solutions.
- Establish and sustain voice communication frameworks, encompassing VoIP systems, call management, and voicemail solutions.
- Deploy and oversee Cisco Unified Contact Center Express (UCCX) and Cisco Unity Connection systems.
Maintenance and Technical Support:
- Deliver expert troubleshooting and resolution for intricate voice-related challenges.
- Conduct routine system maintenance, updates, and patches to maintain peak performance and security.
- Monitor system efficiency, identify issues, and apply corrective measures as needed.
Integration and Collaboration:
- Integrate voice solutions with other IT systems within the university, including network infrastructure and collaboration platforms.
- Work in conjunction with network engineers to ensure smooth integration of voice services with network operations.
- Engage with vendors and service providers to coordinate support and resolve service-related issues.
Project Leadership:
- Oversee and direct voice-related projects, including system upgrades, new implementations, and enhancements.
- Formulate project plans, timelines, and resource allocation strategies.
- Prepare and deliver project status updates to university stakeholders.
Documentation and Training:
- Create and maintain detailed documentation for voice systems, configurations, and operational procedures.
- Provide training and support to IT personnel and end-users on voice technologies and best practices.
Innovation and Enhancement:
- Keep abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends in voice communication and Cisco products.
- Propose and implement enhancements to improve voice communication services and user experience.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline. A Master's degree is preferred.
Experience:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in voice engineering or related fields, particularly with Cisco products.
- Demonstrated expertise with Cisco Unified Communications Manager, Cisco Unity Connection, and Cisco UCCX.
- Familiarity with VoIP technologies, call routing, and telephony systems.
Certifications:
- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) in Collaboration is essential.
- Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) in Collaboration or similar advanced certifications are highly advantageous.
Skills:
- Comprehensive knowledge of Cisco voice technologies, network protocols, and telephony standards.
- Exceptional problem-solving and troubleshooting capabilities.
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
