Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Business Systems Group Manager to join our team at LBL. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the Business Systems Group, providing strategic direction and oversight to ensure the effective delivery of business systems solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the Business Systems Group, providing strategic direction and oversight to ensure the effective delivery of business systems solutions.
  • Develop and implement organizational strategies, policies, and communication plans to ensure business systems services are customer-focused, efficient, and cost-effective.
  • Provide leadership to the Business Systems Group, consisting of Business Systems/Business Intelligence/Reporting Analysts responsible for delivering business systems solutions.
  • Supervise team members, establishing direction, developing and managing resource allocation, and work plans in accordance with overall OCFO priorities.
  • Establish operational objectives, schedules, and work plans, and delegate assignments to staff, ensuring adherence to performance requirements.
  • Develop and establish plans, frameworks, and standards/procedures to ensure efficient and effective systems integration, implementation, and maintenance.
  • Administer and execute policies, processes, and procedures within the Business Systems Group.
  • Build and maintain effective and productive relationships with OCFO Senior Management, customers, and IT partners.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, and a minimum of 8 years of progressively complex and relevant experience, including at least 4 years in a managerial or supervisory role.
  • Advanced leadership skills, including the ability to lead cross-functional teams, track assignments, and provide progress updates to senior management and key stakeholders.
  • Advanced knowledge in project management methodologies, including the ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, and expertise in utilizing interpersonal skills to effectively explain, negotiate, persuade, and build consensus among diverse stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of PeopleSoft Query, SQL, and Cognos or similar advanced tools.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience working for a large, Federal direct- and grant-funded research organization.
  • Experience in Accounting and Budgeting.
  • Knowledge of DOE, M&O contractor, and UC business requirements.
  • Knowledge of financial and accounting principles and processes.
  • Professional certification or advanced education in Project Management or Management Information Systems.
