General Description
As a Senior Rotary Wing Aircraft Technician, you will deliver comprehensive on-site maintenance and flight operations support for the USAF Rotary Wing Initial Entry Pilot Training program utilizing the MH-139/AW-139 aircraft.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform aviation maintenance and repair services, ensuring operational support, including thorough testing of aircraft, aviation systems, and related support equipment.
- Analyze and interpret technical documentation, publications, and directives to maintain compliance and operational efficiency.
- Oversee all aspects of aircraft launch and recovery operations, as well as address unscheduled maintenance needs.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical faults to ensure aircraft readiness.
- Maintain meticulous documentation, including contractor pilot and non-rated crew member flight records, HAZMAT, safety protocols, and scheduling.
- Adhere to all regulatory, customer, and contractual obligations.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support operational goals.
Education and Experience Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Possession of an FAA A&P license is mandatory.
- A minimum of 8 years of experience in aircraft maintenance or at least 6 years of verifiable rotary-wing aircraft maintenance experience is required.
- At least 2 years of experience working with AgustaWestland aircraft (AW-139, 109, 149, 119, TH-73, 169, etc.) is essential.
- Must be a U.S. citizen.
- Compliance with a drug-free workplace policy, including post-offer, pre-employment substance abuse testing, is required.
Physical Requirements
To successfully perform this role, the individual must be capable of executing each essential duty effectively. The following physical requirements are representative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed:
- Ability to walk and stand on both level and inclined surfaces for extended periods.
- Capability to climb stairs, ramps, ladders, and work stands, including working at heights with appropriate fall protection.
- Proficiency in crouching, crawling, grasping, handling objects, and utilizing finger dexterity, as well as bending elbows/knees and reaching above/below shoulders.
- May need to lift up to 50 pounds and carry for short distances.
- Ability to read dials/gauges, identify small objects, and utilize hand tools.
- Must possess visual acuity to detect imperfections, micrometer readings, and other small scales.
- Effective communication skills, including the ability to communicate by voice and detect sounds.
- Capability to distinguish colors and assess three-dimensional depth.
- May be required to operate power vehicles, machinery, hand tools, ground support equipment, forklifts, APU, etc.
