Senior Drainage Engineer - Transportation Infrastructure

Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct site visits for hydraulic design and bridge scour assessments, documenting findings.
  • Leverage expertise in hydraulic modeling software, including HEC-RAS, SRH-2D, and RMA-2, as well as MicroStation, InRoads, and other relevant drainage software.
  • Prepare technical reports, documentation, and design deliverables, including hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, and potentially scour-related structural stability assessments.
  • Perform complex engineering tasks efficiently and accurately, applying advanced engineering techniques.
  • Extract engineering information from CAD drawings, and prepare engineering calculations, material quantity takeoffs, estimates, surveys, and designs.
  • Collaborate frequently with other engineering disciplines and departments.
  • Provide technical guidance to CAD Designers/Drafters, Designers, and junior engineers working on the same project.
  • Advise senior management on engineering-related matters when required.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field, with at least 8 years of relevant experience in drainage design and hydrology for culvert systems.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) registration is strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency in CAD and other engineering-related software is essential.
  • Knowledge of Georgia drainage and hydraulic requirements is a plus.
  • Experience with drainage and hydraulic software such as PondPack, FlowMaster, CulvertMaster, HEC-RAS, HEC-18, and HY-8 is preferred.
