Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled HVAC Mechanic to join our team at the Downingtown Area School District. As a key member of our facilities maintenance team, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of heating, ventilating, and air conditioning systems, as well as related equipment and controls.

Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks on HVAC systems, including cleaning, lubricating, and replacing parts as needed.
  • Diagnose and repair problems with HVAC systems, including electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic components.
  • Install new HVAC systems and equipment, including ductwork, vents, and controls.
  • Conduct regular inspections of HVAC systems to ensure they are operating efficiently and safely.
  • Collaborate with other maintenance staff to ensure that all facilities maintenance tasks are completed in a timely and efficient manner.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; trade school diploma or certificate preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in HVAC maintenance and repair.
  • Knowledge of HVAC systems, including electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic components.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, circuit diagrams, and operation and maintenance manuals.
  • Ability to troubleshoot HVAC systems and diagnose problems.
  • Physical ability to lift and move heavy equipment and materials.
