HVAC Mechanic

We are seeking a skilled HVAC Mechanic to join our team at the Downingtown Area School District. As an HVAC Mechanic, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of heating, ventilating, and air conditioning systems, as well as related equipment and controls.

• Perform routine maintenance tasks on HVAC systems, including cleaning, lubricating, and replacing parts as needed.
• Diagnose and repair problems with HVAC systems, including leaks, blockages, and electrical circuit malfunctions.
• Install and replace HVAC equipment, including compressors, condensers, and fans.
• Work with blueprints, circuit diagrams, and operation and maintenance manuals to troubleshoot and repair HVAC systems.
• Use hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment to perform maintenance and repair tasks.
• Work safely and efficiently in a fast-paced environment, with minimal supervision.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Trade school diploma, certificate, or equivalent, plus two years' experience in a position-related field.
• Maintain certifications and licenses necessary for the completion of job-related skills.
• Sufficient knowledge of the principles and theories of air conditioning, refrigeration, and pneumatic controls.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, circuit diagrams, and operation and maintenance manuals.
• Ability to troubleshoot HVAC and refrigeration systems for leaks, blockages, and electrical circuit malfunctions without trial and error and without immediate supervision.
• Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment to perform maintenance and repair tasks.
