Job Title: Respiratory Care Practitioner Level II

Sutter Health is seeking a skilled Respiratory Care Practitioner Level II to join our team in Mountain View, California.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Respiratory Care Practitioner Level II to provide therapeutic, diagnostic, and emergency respiratory care procedures to patients with respiratory insufficiencies or abnormalities.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform therapeutic, diagnostic, and emergency respiratory care procedures
  • Provide assessment, treatment, care, and evaluation for patients with respiratory insufficiencies or abnormalities
  • Exercise sound judgment and developed clinical skills to provide input to and implement the patient's plan of care based on the diagnosis and physician orders
  • Gain confidence and cooperation from the patient, their family/support group, and other healthcare providers through competent patient assessment, attentive monitoring, and care, and effective communication
  • Adhere to all local, state, and federal regulations, codes, policies, and procedures to ensure privacy and safety while delivering optimal patient care
  • May also be responsible for performing specific procedures and/or orienting other staff to the department
Requirements:
  • Graduate of a two-year respiratory care program accredited by the Committee on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC)
  • RCP-Respiratory Care Practitioner certification
  • NRP-Neonatal Resuscitation Provider certification if required at the entity
  • RRT-Registered Respiratory Therapist certification within 90 days
  • OR CRT-Certified Respiratory Therapist certification within 90 days
  • BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider certification
  • 2 years of recent relevant experience
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of respiratory therapy principles, procedures, views, and equipment
  • Ability to interpret a variety of data and instructions, furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
  • Capable of performing routine or emergency respiratory care
  • Basic understanding of human anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology
  • Written and verbal communications skills to explain sensitive information clearly and professionally to diverse audiences
  • Well-developed time management and organizational skills
  • General knowledge of computer applications, such as Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook), electronic health records (EHR), and EPIC
