Vice President

The U.S. Personal Banking (USPB) Recovery Operations Control Testing Team plays a crucial role in evaluating the effectiveness of controls established by the USPB Recovery Operations department.

This position is an individual contributor role reporting to the Team Leader of USPB Recovery Operations Control Testing within the USPB-Wealth-Common Control Testing Utility. The individual will be responsible for comprehensive monitoring of controls within the USPB Recovery Operations department, focusing on operational controls performance assurance and testing. This includes the design, execution, reporting of results, and sharing insights related to controls monitoring and testing.

The Recovery Operations Controls Testing Leader is recognized as a subject matter expert in controls monitoring, possessing a deep understanding of control testing methodologies and adapting current trends for practical application within the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the Controls Testing Utility by evaluating control designs, creating control testing tools, and developing testing procedures.
• Execute Control Design Assessments (CDA) by following established procedures and documenting outcomes in the Citi Risk & Control (CRC) system.
• Oversee significant aspects of control testing design, including drafting tool descriptions and setting up control testing and QUEST.
• Develop control testing procedures and ensure necessary approvals from relevant business units.
• Train the Central Execution team on designed control testing tools and established procedures.
• Resolve disputes related to control testing outliers and escalate concerns as necessary.
• Prepare materials for Operational Risk Forums (ORF) and senior management meetings, investigating deviations from expected results.
• Implement quality-checking routines to ensure adherence to policies and procedures.
• Assist team members with various topics related to control testing design and performance management.
• Drive continuous improvements in the accuracy, efficiency, and quality of control assessments and testing.
• Maintain strong relationships with partners and stakeholders to ensure the success of control testing initiatives.
• Assess risks in business decisions, prioritizing the firm's reputation and compliance with laws and regulations.
• Support additional departmental initiatives as directed by management.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, with at least 3 years in Risk & Controls roles.
• Expertise in controls design, execution, and testing.
• Strong understanding of MCA (Managers Control Assessment) frameworks and processes.
• Proficient in MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and MS SharePoint.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Strong relationship management skills with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively.
• Independent thinker capable of providing credible challenges to business functions.
• Experience working on virtual teams across different geographies is preferred.

Education:

• Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.
