About the Role:
Pennsylvania Medicine is dedicated to our tripartite mission of providing the highest level of care to patients, conducting innovative research, and educating future leaders in the field of medicine.
As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in supporting our mission by coordinating and administering Hospice volunteer programs and services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with planning, coordinating, recruiting, and administering Hospice volunteer programs and services.
- Receive and review requests for services, scheduling and maintaining a calendar of volunteer services delivered.
- Participate with the interdisciplinary team (IDT), nurse manager, and primary nurse in coordinating volunteer services.
- Serve as a liaison among Hospice clients, families, volunteers, and the Hospice IDT.
- Attend Hospice department team meetings regularly to assess client needs and provide feedback to the Hospice IDT and volunteers.
- Link bereavement volunteers with surviving family members for bereavement support.
- Assist with the recruitment, orientation, and training of all volunteers.
- Maintain records of Hospice volunteer hours and visits made, as well as monthly and annual statistical reports of volunteer activity.
- Provide supervision, evaluation, and support for all volunteers.
- Participate in the organization and planning of community events related to the Hospice department.
Credentials:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A High School Diploma or equivalent.
- At least 1 year of experience in Hospice volunteer services, with supervisory experience preferred.
