Job Summary:

The Senior Associate, Real Estate Transaction Services will work in a team of real estate finance and development professionals on projects central to NYC's economic development and housing goals. This role will manage multiple real estate transactions from inception to closing and perform financial analyses to help the City evaluate a project's economic impact.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage multiple real estate and/or financing transactions, ensuring timely completion and adherence to project goals.
  • Assist in negotiating contracts of sale, leases, and funding agreements, leveraging expertise in real estate finance and development.
  • Develop and maintain detailed financial models of major New York City development projects, measuring pro forma IRRs and NPVs.
  • Prepare site development and project feasibility analyses, providing data-driven insights to inform decision-making.
  • Draft requests for proposals, collaborating with colleagues to ensure effective communication and project execution.
  • Analyze and present findings and recommendations to project teams and senior staff in written and verbal form, briefing senior officials on project status.
  • Conduct presentations to elected officials, community stakeholders, and NYCEDC Board, effectively communicating project goals and outcomes.
  • Collaborate with colleagues in other departments, such as Legal, Planning, Government & Community Relations, and Development, to foster a cohesive and effective team environment.
  • Foster and manage relationships with real estate developers, attorneys, urban planners, consultants, elected officials, and community stakeholders, ensuring strong partnerships and project success.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree or a foreign equivalent in Business, Real Estate Development, Housing Finance, Public Policy, or Urban Planning.
  • Experience in urban planning, economic development, real estate development, housing finance, law, and/or public policy.
  • Developing economic models in Microsoft Excel and project management duties, including project implementation from conception to completion.
  • Understanding of affordable housing programs and NYC government processes.
  • New York City residency required within 180 days of hire.

Location:
NYCEDC (New York City Economic Development Corporation), One Liberty Plaza, 14th Floor, New York, NY. Ability to work remotely up to two days a week as agreed upon with manager.

Salary:
$138,174 - $138,174/year.
