Inventory Associate Responsibilities, Job Duties, and Tasks:

  • Your responsibility is to ensure that all customer requirements related to the liquor store are fulfilled.

Job Requirements:Customer Service
  • Your primary focus should always be on the customer.
  • Every customer you encounter while on the sales floor should be asked if they require assistance.
  • You will assist in locating specific products, provide information about various items, and make recommendations.

Stocking:
  • Maintaining full, organized, and visually appealing shelves is one of your most crucial responsibilities.
  • You will compile a list of products that can be fully stocked on the shelves, then retrieve the cases from storage and transport them to the main sales area using appropriate equipment.
  • Reusable containers will be delivered to the checkout stations.
  • Each case may weigh up to 60 pounds and could be lifted numerous times throughout your shift.
  • Inventory associates must twist at the waist, use their elbows, wrists, and shoulders effectively.
  • Bending at the knees is essential, especially when lifting cases.
  • You will utilize a hand truck to move cases to their designated locations.
  • Inventory associates are expected to stand for the duration of their shifts.

Additional Areas:As an inventory associate, you will also be responsible for monitoring and stocking other areas as needed, including the wine cooler, wine cellar, soda coolers, mixer aisle, and clearance section. All these areas must be stocked at least once during each shift.

Stock Rotation:
Every case you stock should be placed on the shelf with the oldest items at the front. Many products, particularly in the boxed wine section, have expiration dates, so extra care must be taken to ensure that expired items are in front.

The Kiosks:
  • The kiosks serve multiple functions, and basic computer skills are necessary.
  • You will primarily use the kiosks to locate items, check inventory levels, verify prices, and print labels.
  • Be prepared to work with screens that may cause eye strain.

You are also expected to check communications regularly throughout your shift.

Other Duties:
  • While stocking shelves and throughout the day, it is essential to front and face the shelves.
  • This involves ensuring all bottles are aligned and positioned at the front of the shelf with labels facing outward.
  • A neat and organized display is always more appealing to customers.

Breakage:Occasionally, a bottle may break. It is important to follow the correct procedures for handling breakage, which includes cleaning up glass and liquids promptly and completing the necessary documentation.
