About the Position

We are seeking an experienced Fire Alarm and Suppression Systems Technician to join our team at KBR's Government Solutions U.S. division in Chantilly, VA.

This is a full-time position that requires 100% onsite work, with occasional travel between our facilities in Chantilly and Springfield, VA.

Job Overview

The successful candidate will be responsible for evaluating and selecting standard engineering techniques and procedures for the installation, maintenance, and repair of fire alarm and suppression systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate and select standard engineering techniques and procedures for the installation, maintenance, and repair of fire alarm and suppression systems.
  • Apply judgment to make minor adaptations and modifications to engineering plans and designs as required.
  • Assist in the design of larger and more complex fire safety system projects that include conventional plans and few complex features.
  • Conduct investigations and surveys to assess current systems and identify areas for improvement or potential issues.
  • Ensure all work complies with applicable codes, standards, and best practices to maintain safety and operational efficiency.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED: Required as a basic educational foundation.
  • Technical or Vocational Training: Training from a technical school or community college in fire technology, electrical systems, or a related field is highly recommended.
  • NICET III Certification: Certification from the National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies (NICET) in fire alarm systems or fire suppression systems is highly valued.
  • State Licensing: Some states require specific licensing for technicians working on fire alarm and suppression systems.
