Maintenance Operations Specialist - Galveston

We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Operations Specialist to join our team at Moody Neuro Rehabilitation Institute in Galveston, TX. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our physical plant and maintaining a safe and healthy environment for our patients, staff, and visitors.

About the Role:

The Maintenance Operations Specialist will be responsible for supervising and coordinating the activities of our maintenance staff, responding to work orders, and performing routine maintenance and repairs. This is a full-time, non-exempt position that requires a high level of attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of maintenance staff, including assigning tasks and ensuring timely completion of work orders
  • Respond to all physical plant requests submitted via work order system, email, or phone
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and carpentry work
  • Inspect and repair/correct emergency warning devices, emergency plans, protective equipment and clothing, operations involving hazardous materials, walking and working surfaces, and other safety-related items
  • Deliver drivers' training and perform regular safety duties, including fire drills, regulatory inspections, and life safety inspections
  • Perform opening and closing duties, as assigned

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • At least two years of maintenance and general repair experience preferred
  • Skilled in use of carpentry and power tools
  • Knowledge of heating/AC, plumbing, electrical, refrigeration trouble inspection
  • Current Texas Driver's License required

Estimated Salary Range:

$45,000 - $65,000 per year, depending on experience

Work Environment:

This is a full-time position that requires working in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently with minimal supervision, have excellent communication skills, and be able to multitask effectively.
