Job Opportunity

The American Angus Association is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to fill the role of Regional Manager. This position is responsible for representing the Association in various capacities, providing exceptional service to members and breeders, and serving as a liaison between the organization, its membership, industry partners, and academia.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Represent the Association at industry events and functions to promote the Angus breed and its services.
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of Association entities and effectively communicate their value to members and users of Angus genetics.
  • Inform Association members and users of Angus genetics about programs and services offered by the Association and its entities, and assist with their implementation.
  • Understand and administer Association rules and policies related to membership.
  • Provide marketing and promotional support to members and users of Angus genetics through the utilization of Angus Media marketing platforms.
  • Responsible for advertising sales within the territory, covering all media outlets, including the Angus Journal, Angus Beef Bulletin, websites, and sale catalogs.
  • Provide ring service at auctions when advertising requirements are met, connecting breeders based on seedstock and genetic needs.
  • Educate commercial partners on the value of registered Angus bulls through the use of Angus Link and other vital commercial programs.
  • Represent the Association at shows, assisting show management with rule enforcement, entry processing, and program development.
  • Assist state adult and junior associations with activities and events sponsored by these groups and/or the Association.

Requirements:

  • Excellent communication skills, including telephone, written, and presentation skills.
  • Proven experience in sales, with a strong ability to identify customer needs and develop effective sales strategies.
  • Preferred experience working as a ringman in a livestock auction/sales environment.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, and execute multiple activities effectively.
  • Working knowledge of the Beef Industry.
  • Ability to analyze and solve problems and retain information.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Comfortable with computers and other technology.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Must reside within the assigned territory/region.
  • Must be able and willing to travel frequently, 50-75%, with heavy travel during sale season.
  • Valid driver's license to operate a company vehicle.
