The Armed Services YMCA of The U S A is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Child and Youth Program Assistant to join our team. As a key member of our Child and Youth Services department, you will be responsible for providing high-quality care and supervision to children and youth, ages 4-12, in a safe and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities- Provide daily care and supervision to children and youth, ensuring their physical, emotional, and social needs are met.
- Develop and implement engaging and educational programs that promote learning, socialization, and character development.
- Collaborate with other staff members to ensure seamless program delivery and high-quality services.
- Maintain accurate records and reports, including attendance, behavior, and progress notes.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance skills and knowledge.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; 2 years of experience working with children and youth in a childcare setting or related field.
- CPR/First Aid certification and 48 hours of training or equivalent certifications.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team; excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform duties in a fast-paced environment.
- 3 years of experience working with children and youth in a childcare setting or related field.
- Child Development Associate (CDA) credential or Military School-Age (MSA) credential.
- 2-year degree in Early Childhood Education (ECE), Child Development, or related field.
The work environment involves everyday risks or discomforts that require normal safety precautions typical of a wide variety of child and youth activities, programs, and services. Activities, programs, and services are conducted in a building or outside and are suitable for children and youth. The work area is adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated.
