Job Title: Vice President Strategy, Culture & Engagement

Direct Federal Credit Union is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Vice President Strategy, Culture & Engagement to join our team. As a key member of our leadership team, you will play a critical role in shaping the organization's culture and employee experience.

Job Summary:

The Vice President Strategy, Culture & Engagement will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to drive growth, communication, culture, and engagement aligned with the credit union's mission and strategic goals. This includes creating a positive and inclusive work environment, fostering employee engagement and loyalty, and promoting a culture of excellence and high expectations for all staff and volunteers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to drive growth, communication, culture, and engagement
  • Create a positive and inclusive work environment that promotes employee satisfaction and loyalty
  • Foster employee engagement and loyalty through planned initiatives and commitment to delivering on strategic goals
  • Develop and present a comprehensive culture and engagement strategy encompassing the organization's values, mission, and vision
  • Oversee the execution of strategic plans and present progress on achievement of goals and metrics
  • Research and propose ideas to support culture and employee engagement
  • Develop, implement, and oversee the creation of Employee Resource Groups
  • Promote a positive culture, serve as a brand ambassador, and support the credit union's mission by fostering and maintaining solid relationships throughout the organization, community, and with partners to expand connections
  • Conduct organizational needs assessments to establish program development in conjunction with annual planning and budgets
Requirements:
  • Proven experience with a minimum of 4-5 years of current experience across strategy, culture, and engagement, focused on strategic planning, enterprise communications, change management, training, or employee support related initiatives in the credit union or banking industry
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a sound knowledge of employee motivation and engagement tactics
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively liaise with all levels of the organization, driving employee engagement, strategic initiatives, and fostering a positive culture
  • Creativity in developing programs and methods for engaging toward the success of a goal
  • Relationship-building skills with the ability to work collaboratively and build relationships with stakeholders
  • A keen eye for detail and the ability to manage complex projects
  • A strategic mindset and strong ability to multi-task
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities
Education:

Bachelor's degree in finance, business administration, or a related field is preferred. Previous experience in financial services may be substituted at a 2:1 ratio.

Other Skills Required:
  • Must have in-depth understanding of and ability to interpret regulations affecting lending programs
  • Must possess extensive knowledge of consumer and real estate lending practices and procedures
  • Ability to read and interpret complex documents and to respond effectively to sensitive inquiries or complaints
  • Must have high proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required with the ability to effectively interact with all levels of the organization
  • Must possess good data analysis skills
  • Must have ability to prioritize demands from multiple projects
