Position Overview
This position is available for Part-Time candidates only.

Suvida is committed to delivering excellence throughout the entire patient experience, including all non-clinical interactions. The Healthcare Access Coordinator plays a vital role in upholding our standards of excellence in patient engagement.


The Healthcare Access Coordinator will utilize various software applications, with a strong focus on web-based tools such as Sharepoint and Elation (Electronic Medical Record). Proficiency in navigating and switching between web applications and tools is essential for success in this role. Equally important is the combination of excellent oral Spanish language skills alongside strong English reading and writing abilities.


This role requires a high level of attention to detail and the ability to engage positively with senior patients, their families, and caregivers, demonstrating empathy and patience.


All patient interactions will occur via telephone or digital communication. These interactions may include a mix of inbound and outbound calls, depending on daily assignments. The ideal candidate will consistently provide high-quality patient service and accurate documentation in our fast-paced environment.

The Healthcare Access Coordinator is a crucial member of the Operations Team, directly influencing the measurable quality performance of Suvida. This individual must embody Suvida's purpose and vision in all interactions.



Key Responsibilities
All activities must comply with HIPAA and other relevant regulations. Essential responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Conducting telephonic outreach to new and existing patients
  • Responding to incoming appointment requests
  • Engaging in digital communication with patients
  • Collecting or updating demographic and insurance information; verifying insurance
  • Scheduling appointments
  • Ensuring accurate and complete documentation in the appropriate systems in accordance with all policies and procedures
  • Taking ownership of patient issues and collaborating with other departments as necessary
  • Maintaining HIPAA compliance in all interactions
  • Participating in mandatory training sessions
  • Staying informed about process or organizational changes communicated through meetings, emails, or other channels
  • Proactively collaborating with leadership to identify opportunities for protocol improvements
  • Performing other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • 1+ years of experience in customer service or patient service
  • 6+ months of experience in a front-line Contact Center, preferably in Healthcare
  • 6+ months of experience scheduling appointments using an Electronic Medical Record system preferred
  • Fluent oral Spanish and English communication skills
  • Strong reading and writing skills in English
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a service-oriented attitude
  • Proactive with the ability to take initiative and apply critical thinking
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented
  • Ability to de-escalate stressful situations with challenging personalities
  • Team player with a strong sense of personal accountability and urgency
  • Effective problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining high service standards
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Prior experience with Elation EMR is preferred but not required

Education, Experience, Licensure, or Certification Requirements
  • High School Diploma required
  • 1 year of college preferred
