At El Encanto, A Belmond Hotel, we're seeking a skilled Line Cook to join our culinary team. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you'll play a vital role in delivering exceptional dining experiences for our guests.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare hot foods, including meats, fish, poultry, starches, and vegetables, with attention to cleanliness and sanitation, consistent quality standards, and taste, timeliness, and cost effectiveness.
  • Ensure that food quality, portioning, and presentation reflect our promise of serving fresh California Coastal Cuisine.
  • Set stations on time with the appropriate amount of food and supplies for the projected business and maintain a clean and organized workspace.
  • Remain knowledgeable of proper taste and presentation of all menu items, in all stations.
  • Promote and practice standards of excellence and professionalism on the line.
  • Ensure consistency of product and close station, including cleaning procedures.
  • Safely and properly clean and use equipment, including personal knives.
  • Maintain cleanliness of kitchen and equipment and ensure all foods are stored properly, wrapped, labeled, and dated with expiration dates.
  • Follow established health and safety standards that comply with state, local, Food Safety, MSDS, OSHA, and Health Department regulations.
  • Assist chefs with preparation of food for the Restaurant, Banquets, Pool, and In Room Dining.
  • Maintain a sense of urgency and work under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Maintain a clean, neat, and well-organized work area.
  • Produce food according to the ticket in a timely manner and in accordance with specifications.
  • Use utilities and resources in a responsible manner to control wastage.
  • Communicate relevant information to the department, your line manager, and across departments, as appropriate.
  • Comply with safe working practices, Health and Safety policy, and ensure accidents/defects are reported immediately.
  • Attend learning and development courses and complete eLearning modules, as required.
  • Demonstrate and be a role model of Belmond's core values of Care, Confidence, Curiosity, and Community.
