Position Overview

The Audiologist plays a crucial role in conducting comprehensive audiological assessments that facilitate the identification of various hearing impairments. This professional will be responsible for evaluating, selecting, and fitting hearing aids for diverse patient demographics. Additionally, the Audiologist will perform extensive diagnostic evaluations, including Auditory Brainstem Response (ABR), Electronystagmography (ENG), Electrocochleography (ECOG), Auditory Steady-State Response (ASSR), and other necessary assessments.

The ideal candidate will collaborate with a team of six audiologists, six otolaryngologists, and around 30 Doctor of Audiology (AuD) students within a large, multidisciplinary academic medical institution. The Audiologist will also supervise AuD students and work in partnership with healthcare providers across various specialties.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct diagnostic evaluations for both pediatric and adult patients, including otoscopy, tympanometry, pure tone, and speech audiometry.
  • Perform hearing aid assessments and fittings.
  • Conduct follow-up evaluations and programming for hearing aids.
  • Take ear mold impressions.
  • Carry out cerumen management.
  • Administer vestibular diagnostics and treatments, including Videonystagmography, evoked potentials, and dynamic platform posturography.
  • Execute Auditory Brainstem Response evaluations, including threshold searches and neurodiagnostic testing.
  • Evaluate and program implantable hearing devices, such as Baha.
  • Conduct evaluations and programming for cochlear implants.
Qualifications
  • Doctor of Audiology (AuD) or a Master’s degree in Audiology, with the CCC-A credential and eligibility for Kentucky licensure in audiology.
  • A minimum of five years of professional experience is preferred.
