Avera McKennan Hospital is seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Scientist to join our team in the Stem Cell Laboratory. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for performing a variety of clinical laboratory tests, procedures, and related duties.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Utilize scientific principles and technical expertise to perform laboratory tests and procedures.
  • Ensure quality control and quality assurance in laboratory operations.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot laboratory equipment and instruments.
  • Correlate test results and provide accurate diagnoses.
  • Participate in continuing education and professional development to stay current with industry advancements.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university and completion of NAACLS accredited Medical Laboratory Scientist program.
  • One to two years of experience/training acceptable to the ASCP or AMT for the Medical Laboratory Scientist.
  • Six months Blood banking experience required.
  • Stem cell handling/processing experience highly desired.
  • Flow cytometry experience highly desired.
  • Molecular experience highly desired.
What We Offer:
  • Competitive hourly rate of $41.50 per hour.
  • Full-time position with 80 hours every 2 weeks.
  • On-call rotation every 3rd week/weekend.
