Avera McKennan Hospital is seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Scientist to join our team in the Stem Cell Laboratory. As a member of our multidisciplinary team, you will have the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology and contribute to the advancement of healthcare.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform a variety of clinical laboratory tests, procedures, and related duties.
  • Utilize scientific principles and technical expertise to ensure accurate and reliable test results.
  • Collaborate with other laboratory professionals to maintain quality control and quality assurance standards.
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current with the latest laboratory techniques and technologies.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university and completion of a NAACLS-accredited Medical Laboratory Scientist program.
  • One to two years of experience/training acceptable to the ASCP or AMT for the Medical Laboratory Scientist.
  • Six months of blood banking experience required.
  • Stem cell handling/processing experience highly desired.
  • Flow cytometry experience highly desired.
  • Molecular experience highly desired.

What We Offer:

  • Competitive hourly rate of $41.50 per hour.
  • Full-time position with 80 hours every two weeks.
  • Monday-Friday shifts with either 8 or 10 hour shifts.
  • On-call every third week/weekend.
  • Student Loan Repayment Program and sign-on bonus with a three-year commitment.
