Job Overview:

The Automotive Technician II will be responsible for modifying vehicles in a prototype setting, executing a variety of diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance tasks.

This role requires the technician to work independently on project assignments while also collaborating effectively with clients and team members.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure vehicle operational efficiency by following repair orders or supervisor instructions and conducting thorough inspections.
  • Diagnose and repair issues in mechanical and electrical systems, replacing parts and components as necessary.
  • Interpret and adhere to service procedures accurately.
  • Maintain detailed vehicle records by documenting notes, services, and repair orders.
  • Ensure shop equipment is functioning properly by adhering to operating guidelines, troubleshooting issues, performing preventive maintenance, and coordinating repairs when needed.
  • Engage in daily organization and cleanliness of the shop environment.

Qualifications (Required):
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in a mechanic role.

Qualifications (Preferred):
  • Certification in Automotive Technology or a related field.
  • National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Certification(s).
  • State Mechanic Certification(s).
  • A valid driver's license.

Essential Skills and Abilities (Required):
  • Proficient knowledge of mechanical assembly and the ability to operate shop equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
  • Able to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Possession of personal tools with a rolling toolbox and availability for overtime and weekend work.
  • Ability to read, understand, and execute written procedures effectively.

Preferred Skills and Abilities:
  • Familiarity with vehicle alignments, air conditioning (A/C) system repairs, and tire machines and balancers.
