Fleet Maintenance Expert Wanted for Automotive Team

Position OverviewWe are seeking a skilled Fleet Maintenance Expert to join our Automotive & Fleet Maintenance team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in maintaining and repairing various types of vehicles and equipment, ensuring they are in safe working order and extend the life of city property.
Responsibilities and Duties- Provide exceptional customer service to all individuals, including co-workers, internal and external customers, community members, and the public.
- Maintain a positive and productive work environment that aligns with the City's policies, procedures, goals, and objectives.
- Conduct routine preventative maintenance on vehicles and equipment, including checking for defects, changing fluids, inspecting tires, and ensuring safety equipment is in good condition.
- Perform specialized repairs on a variety of equipment, such as engines, transmissions, steering systems, suspensions, wiring, electric motors, snowplows, salt spreaders, and hydraulic systems.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in the operation of fleet equipment and machinery required.
- Job-relevant certification/license, vocational/technical program completion, or completion of apprenticeship preferred.
- Class A CDL preferred, or ability to obtain within 180 days of employment required.
- Valid driver's license required.
- ASE Master Certification in either Auto/Light Truck or Medium/Heavy Duty Truck required.
- EVT (Emergency Vehicle Technician) Certified within 180 days of employment required.
- Must be able to lift 100 pounds.
- Must be able to frequently stand, walk, reach, and stoop.
- Must be able to occasionally sit, climb stairs and ladders, kneel, crouch, crawl, and lay down on the ground on your back/side.
- Must be able to speak and hear clearly.
- Must be able to perform repetitive wrist, hand, and/or finger movement.
- Must have finger dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
- Must have clarity of vision and the ability to adjust focus.
