Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Resident Engineer I to join our team at HNTB. As a key member of our Construction Services Group, you will be responsible for overseeing the overall field management of our contracts, administration, and coordination on complex projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and coordinate project activities, ensuring conformance with contractual requirements.
  • Provide technical leadership for complex or unique assignments, reviewing drawings, specifications, and installation procedures for constructability.
  • Represent projects at meetings and conferences, ensuring effective communication and collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Develop and implement project controls, including checking contractors' controls and coordinating schedules.
  • Review and approve submittals for conformance to plans and specifications, developing strategies with contractors to meet schedule requirements.
  • Implement the firm's project delivery plan, leading the development and execution of the project management plan.
  • Supervise and mentor team members to achieve overall project objectives, identifying and resolving non-compliant work.
  • Provide interpretation and enforcement of contract plans and specifications, developing strategies with contractors to meet schedule requirements.
  • Confirm change order requests, develop estimates, negotiate costs, and write change orders.
  • Provide cost control on projects and quality control within discipline.
  • Partner with Client Service Leaders and pursuit champions to assist with business development, building client relationships, and pursuit efforts for strategic and mini-mega projects.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering and 8 years of relevant experience.
  • All jurisdictional certificates.
  • Professional Engineer (PE), Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Construction Manager (CCM), or National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies (NICET) Level III.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Engineering.
  • 10 years of relevant experience.
What We Offer

HNTB offers a competitive salary range of $126,000 to $217,000, depending on location and experience. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
