Job Description

An ESS K-12 Health Support Specialist (RN/LPN) plays a crucial role in ensuring students have the best possible educational experience by minimizing absence due to illness and promoting a healthy school environment.

Responsibilities
  • Provide critical care services to medically fragile students as assigned
  • Administer medications from physicians' orders
  • Maintain medication records and reports
  • Communicate with medical, nursing, and district personnel
  • Manage and provide health room services, including first aid and CPR, according to established procedures
  • Offer guidance and counseling in the area of health to students, staff, and parents based on professional standards
Qualifications
  • Nurse Certification, RN or LPN
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certification
  • Child Protective Service Clearance
  • State/FBI Criminal History Clearance
  • Tuberculosis Test
  • Drug Screen Varies by District
