GENERAL OVERVIEW:

Under direct supervision, the Clinical Support Specialist performs tasks associated with the operational procedures of Solaris Health Holdings LLC. Responsibilities include assisting with various medical procedures, ensuring proper setup of equipment, and maintaining a sterile environment.

The role involves cleaning, disinfecting, and sterilizing medical instruments post-use, as well as recording patient vital signs and accurately documenting procedures in the Electronic Health Record system. The specialist will administer injections and assist with the insertion and removal of urinary catheters as directed by the physician.


PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS:
This position requires prolonged periods of standing and walking, as well as the ability to lift and transport patients. The role involves managing stressors associated with patient care and urgent medical situations.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The Clinical Support Specialist operates in a dynamic setting, addressing both elective and urgent medical needs. Flexibility for overtime may be required.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Prepare procedure rooms by setting up necessary instrumentation and verifying supplies and physician preferences.

2. Assist physicians during procedures while adhering to aseptic techniques and universal precautions.

3. Document patient interactions and medical procedures accurately in the Electronic Health Record.

4. Mix medications and administer injections as prescribed by the physician.

5. Collect and process blood specimens, maintaining accurate logs and documentation.

6. Communicate effectively with patients and healthcare providers, ensuring clarity in patient medical concerns.

7. Maintain cleanliness in lab areas and procedure rooms, including high-level disinfection of equipment.

8. Restock supplies and assist in the maintenance of medical equipment as necessary.

9. Collaborate in the orientation of new staff members and support office personnel as needed.

10. Uphold patient confidentiality and demonstrate a commitment to continuous improvement in healthcare practices.


QUALIFICATIONS:
High School diploma or GED; Medical Assistant diploma is required. Certification as a Medical Assistant is preferred.

EXPERIENCE:
A minimum of one year of experience in a medical assistant role is preferred, demonstrating competency in clinical tasks.

SKILLS:
Strong organizational abilities, self-motivation, and effective communication skills are essential. Basic computer proficiency is required.
