Hazardous Materials Management Specialist

Position Overview:
The Hazardous Materials Coordinator, Journeyman is tasked with the comprehensive oversight, administration, and implementation of the HAZMAT program in accordance with established principles, standards, and methodologies of hazardous materials management. The HAZMAT program must adhere to all relevant federal, DoD, state, and local regulations concerning environmental protection.
Essential Qualifications:
+ A minimum of two (2) years of experience within the last four (4) years in the management, administration, or operation of a hazardous materials/waste program. This experience should encompass the receiving, storage, distribution, handling, and disposal of various materials. At least one (1) of the two (2) years must involve planning, organizing, directing, operating, and evaluating a HAZMAT program for an entire command. Familiarity with applicable federal, DoD, state, and local regulations related to environmental protection is essential.
+ Educational Requirement: High School diploma or GED.
+ Certification in Hazardous Substance Incident Response Management (HSIRM) is required.
+ Training in Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) is mandatory.
+ A Top Secret Security Clearance is required. Note: U.S. Citizenship is necessary to obtain and maintain a United States Top Secret Security Clearance.
Security Clearance Requirements:
+ The position necessitates the capability to secure a Top-Secret clearance and sustain a favorable Tier 5 background investigation.
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Experience with S-92, VH-92A, VH-3D, and VH-60N is preferred.
