Job Summary

This position is located in the Administrative Division at the Hopi Health Care Center (HHCC), a TJC Critical Access Hospital and Patient Centered Medical Home. The hospital provides 24/7 emergency department, 4-bed inpatient unit, and comprehensive primary care outpatient clinic services, including Dental, Optometry, and Physical Therapy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Directly supervise physicians, advanced nurse practitioners, medical support assistants, and other clinical services staff, including performance appraisals, department scheduling, and leave approval.
  • Work closely with other supervisors to formulate management discussions, decisions, and policy making, sharing full accountability in management actions.
  • Handle various levels of routine and special work assignments, providing direct patient care within the scope of clinical privileges.
Requirements

Applicants must possess a current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a Physician from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.

Subsequent to obtaining a Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree, a candidate must have had at least 1 year of supervised experience providing direct service in a clinical setting, i.e., a 1-year internship or the first year of a residency program in a hospital or an institution accredited for such training.

Completed 5 years of residency training in the specialty of the position to be filled or equivalent experience and training, and one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service.

Board Certification in the physician's specialty by the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS) or the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) is required.
