Group Leader

As a Group Leader at CSL Plasma, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our donor center. Your primary responsibility will be to train and coach the reception staff, facilitating efficient donor flow through the center. You will also be responsible for registering qualified, applicant, and transfer donors, as well as possessing a general knowledge of the plasma pheresis operation.
Key Responsibilities- Assist qualified donors in completing the screening process, including assessing self-administered health history, answering basic medical questions, and referring donors to medical staff when necessary.
- Perform health screening procedures such as blood pressure, pulse, weight, and temperature.
- Register applicant and transfer donors based on completion of appropriate training and operational needs of the center.
- Educate new donors on the use of therapeutic products made from donated plasma.
- Ensure that all donors' questions are answered timely, accurately, and professionally.
- Maximize donor flow by allocating staff and resources to appropriate center areas or tasks.
- Conduct daily calibration of equipment according to SOP and Plasma Operating Procedures (POP).
- Provide guidance and technical training on processes and procedures to reception staff and other staff as required.
- Support center management by providing input into staff scheduling and resolving minor donor relations and technical procedure issues.
- Ensure the accurate recording of donor data in the electronic donor information management system as outlined in SOPs.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of 18 months experience in a clerical or customer service-related position, preferably in a health care or plasma collection environment.
- Must be able to perform basic math calculations.
The Group Leader will work in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions. The position requires the ability to make decisions that have a moderate impact on the immediate work unit. The Group Leader must be able to see and speak with customers and observe equipment operation. The position requires occasional standing and walking, reaching, bending, and kneeling, as well as the ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds. The Group Leader will be frequently exposed to hazardous chemicals, extreme temperatures, and blood-borne pathogens. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) will be required for specific tasks or in certain areas.
